I just restored the content library. I’ll create CliUpg.acu and see how it
goes. I wonder what the other set of packages that are visible are…

restore

These are “hidden” packages that won’t show in the packages node anywhere.

Did you restore the content library or did you let it repopulate by forcing
content update?

Either way, dropping an empty file named CliUpg.acu into the hman.box inbox on
the site server should regenerate them properly.

Subject: [mssms] Two mystery packages that can't be distributed after site
restore

Last Sunday I did a site backup and restore to get our site server off Server
2008 R2 and onto Server 2016. It all went well, however, I have two mystery
packages that have failed to distribute as listed in content status named:

  * Configuration Manager Client Upgrade Package
  * Microsoft Corporation Configuration Manager Client Piloting Upgrade
Package

There are two similarly named packages (with different package IDs) that have
been successfully distributed named:

  *   Configuration Manager Client Package
  * Microsoft Corporation Configuration Manager Client Piloting Package

When I attempt to find the former set of packages they’re not listed in the
packages node at all (the latter set are). So I’m left with a situation where I
have two packages that I have no idea what they are, where they are, and I
can’t redistribute them.

The site is running 1610 so one possibility I’m considering is they have
something to do with 1702 - not sure if when the site server downloads a new
update in preparation for installation whether it creates the client upgrade
packages at the same time.

Daniel.
