Hmmm. Gentoo, eh? So that means you are compiling it, likely. Make sure that you are compiling lvemux with large file support. Without that, it will not be able to read or write files larger than 2G, and it may well seg fault should you try. Give that a shot. If you don't know how to compile with large file support, google for "Linux large file support" and go to the link to the SuSE page, it explains it pretty well. Good luck Gavin
