    June 10th 
    1761: ccol.james grant invades cherokee lands with a large force.
    Today, he will defeat the cherokee in a battle. He will eventually
    destroy many of the cherokee "middle towns." 
    1804: l & c see iowa village 
    1847: 110 of the big black river band of choctaws, arrive in eastern
    indian territory at fort coffee, today. 
    1851: california treaty - costan internet one in a series of treaties with
    california indians will be signed today at camp persifer f. Smith. The
    treaty's purpose was to guarantee reserved lands and protections from
    the europeans. 
    1859: comstock lode discovered 
    1869: indians attempt to steal the livestock at an army scouting camp on
    the solomon river. The troops prevent the stock from being stampeded.
    On asher creek, in kansas, indians raid the settlements and steal fifteen
    head of livestock. A cavalry troop chases them for ten miles, and
    recovers the animals. 
    1870: when president grant realizes that red cloud has never heard the
    real terms of the fort laramie treaty of 1868, he orders that red cloud
    hear the details. When secretary of the interior jacob cox reads red
    cloud the treaty, red clouds says this is not the treaty he signed. Red
    cloud blames the differences on the interpreters, but he says he will not
    abide by this paper full of lies. 
    1873: exec.order divides wallowa mt area 
    1896: san carlos reservation - arizonacongress will pass an act (29
    stat.321,360) today...... 
    1936: according to federal register number 1fr00667, a modification is
    made in the disposition of lands on the pine ridge reservation in south
    dakota, today. 
    1972: sack & fox -a congressional act today (17 stat. 391) will further
    define the sauk and fox reserve in kansas.
