Coolidge
signed into law an act stating, "that all non-citizen Indians born within
the territorial
limits of the United States be, and they are hereby, declared to be
citizens of the United
States..." More commonly known as the Indian Citizenship Act, it received
relatively
little attention at the time it was passed and now 75 years later, it is
receiving only
passing acknowledgement again.
