Actually, the "switch" feature was removed to make NetMeeting MORE compatible with products like WhitePine's MeetingPoint server. Also, Microsoft knows that the way to get really big is to allow other companies to build stuff with its technologies. Look at Visual Basic. It got massively popular because a large community of products built up around it. Look at Microsoft Office. Everytime one of the press people come to our offices to try to get us to write about it they show us how tons of companies are using Office to build applications. NetMeeting 3.01 works better with other H.323 products than NetMeeting 2.11 does, so your theory is incorrect.
