Acer laptop, just installed Mandriva 2005LE Mini. I did not notice that the AC adapter was unplugged, and everything crashed. After this I could not log in to KDE. Moved .Xauthority, and I now log in to a shell and can run "startkde" but would like to go straight in to the desktop. For some reason MCC fails - "unable to recognise a .png icon" that's paraphrasing the error, Any and all advice gratefully received. This rings faint bells - I'm sure that error has been discussed before, so google should be able to find it. Try something like linux recognise ".png icon".Anne
Thanks, Anne No joy thus far on that.Error is: Couldn't recognise the image file format for file '/usr/share/icons/drakconf.png' at /usr/lib/libDrakX/mygtk2.pm line 248.
and no luck googling bits of that message, either. Russell
