[16] Jaap on Fab
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
Again from the official mag:

"We are used to what he does now, so when you are in a game you don't think 'I hope he
isn't going to do that.' We have confidence in him because he's so good with the ball
at his feet," Jaap told the mag.

"He's done very well for us this season. He plays like a sweeper, and if the ball goes
over the top he's very quick off the line so it's hard to break us down.

"He'd make a good defender, maybe even a midfielder or a striker. He's got the skill!"

More from the official mag:

"I've been to America three or four times and I just love the country and the
lifestyle. The people are almost too friendly - when you go into a shop they stand
right in front of your nose and try to help with everything," he said.

"I went to New York last summer, but I think I'd prefer to live in Florida. Football
is not very big over there but I'd like to play MLS for a year or so and see more of
the country."

[14] Jaap - we need experience
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
>From the official mag:

"Of course it will be difficult to replace him. He's a great manager with so many
qualities," Jaap told the new issue of Manchester United magazine.

"It could be a nightmare for the new manager, because everyone knows what Ferguson has
done. But I think we are going to get an experienced manager to replace him and at
least he won't have to buy a lot of new players."

[12] The new Teddy?
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
As Taibi gets all exited!!

"When I saw my goal on the highlights I realised I looked like a true striker. I
headed the ball just like Teddy Sheringham does because he always scores goals like
that."

The Mirror says that Fergie flies out today to Holland to re-open negotiations with
the Ruud boy

[10] Mickey on Utd spirit
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
"Winning in Munich will not be easy, but you have to reason that if they were capable
of scoring a goal here, I don't see why we can't get two there. Nothing is ever beyond
Manchester United."

---------------------------------
[9] Mickey on '99
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
"The match of 1999 was a one-off final," he says. "This is a two-legged confrontation
and, although Bayern have won the first, there is no reason why we can't take the
second. With the Premiership almost won, there is not much else for us to worry about,
and I feel that it's often better when we have our backs to the wall. We love a
challenge."

---------------------------------
[8] Mickey on the PL V the CL
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
"It's true that it can sometimes be difficult to switch from the Premiership to the
Champions' League," he says. "There are several European games this season, including
Tuesday, where we haven't looked sharp enough."

---------------------------------
[7] Mickey on Becks being missing
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
"We've coped in the past without David," Silvestre says, "but that was in the
Premiership, and I don't think it will be quite as easy to replace him for the Bayern
game."

---------------------------------
[6] Mickey on Fab
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
"Fabien saved us on more than one occasion,". "Same as usual, really. Having him
behind you is like knowing that there is this huge safety net which is ready to catch
any balls that you miss."

---------------------------------
[5] Mickey on Fergie's ambition
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
"It was a particularly disappointing result,". "The Champions' League is the one event
which the manager really cares about. He loves winning the Premiership and the cups
too, but this is the one he most relishes. You can tell it means a lot to him because
his whole manner changes before big European nights. He knows that the top teams need
to win the trophy two or three times in five years."

---------------------------------
[4] 'So fine' on Bayern
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
"We found it difficult to get into our normal rhythm,". "At first we didn't want to
fall into the Real trap of last year, when we just attacked and attacked and were hit
on the break. Then, by the time we realised Bayern weren't going to commit many men
forward themselves, it was almost too late. We couldn't find that extra gear."

---------------------------------
[3] And which list are you on?
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, April 8, 2001 by tb:
The Moral say that the club have created four wage category lists to keep the pin
stripe boys in the city happy.

The 'A' list includes Becks and Keano claims the Moral but it states that players like
the Nevs are likely to be in a lower catergory

Pure conjecture of course being as the Moral haven't got a clue (not for the first
time) because these things don't get published in the accounts.

worth 10 million quid.
