Utah Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics Workshops

Offered Jointly by University of Utah, Department of Pediatrics, Primary

Registration is open for the Sixth Annual University of Utah Clinical 
Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics Workshops in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This three-day program will feature speakers, hands-on sessions and an 
opportunity to present your own work and network.

Day 1 Messy Data and Model Building: Methods, Tools and Techniques for 
Insightful Research

A great lineup of speakers will provide examples of tools and techniques to 
deal with messy data, including:

Day 2 Statistical Methods - R for Pharmacometricians and Pharmacologists

Data functions, Rstudio
  *   Basic data manipulation; Basic Graphics- (Traditional graphics, lattice 
graphics/GGPLOT, and PKgraph); The aggregate function, ddply; Using R Functions 
and Scripts
  *   Introduction to Add-in Packages Add-ins: MASS, Hmisc, ggplot,lattice, 
WinBugs Combining Multiple Study Results: Meta-analysis
  *   Predictive Modeling: Why individualized medicine needs different 
techniques
  *   Implementing Causal Inference with R


  *   Dr. Andrew Redd, Assistant Professor, Division of Epidemiology, 
University of Utah. “Introduction to Add-in Packages  Tidyverse and its family”

  *   Dr. Joga Gobburu, Professor, University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. 
“Introduction to population PK modeling”

Day 3 Introductory SimCYP simulator training

Workshop Leaders: Dr. Catherine Sherwin, Dr. Xiaoxi Liu, Dr. Joseph Rower and 
Dr. Jahidur Rashid
This introductory training will include tutorials and hands-on sessions. Topics 
to be covered include:

  *   Introductory simulator training
  *   Data importing and drug exposure prediction
  *   PBPK model development: methodology and implementation
  *   Whole-body PBPK model development
