in Lower Granville, Annapolis Co., N.S.2. He married (1) MARTHA ANTHONY Bef.
1810, daughter of JOSEPH ANTHONY and ___________ __________. She died Bef.
1818. He married (2) MAGDALEN ANTHONY March 25, 1818 in Trinity Anglican
Church, Digby, Digby Co., N.S.3, daughter of JOSEPH ANTHONY and MARGARET
MUSSELLS. She was born February 25, 1799 in Granville, Annapolis Co., N.S.,
and died November 14, 1883 in at the home of her daughter Ruth Anthony, Port
Wade, Annapolis Co., N.S.4.

The Christian Messenger, August 30, 1865

On the 14th July, 1865, at his residence in Lower Granville, Enoch Merrit,
aged 80 years. The deceased professed religion about 30 years ago under the
ministry of Reverend Joshua B. Cogswell, and united with the Baptist Church at
Lower Granville. He left a widow and children.

Notes for MAGDALEN ANTHONY:

The Christian Messenger, December 19, 1883

Lower Granville, 14 Nov., at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. James
Anthony, Mrs. Laura, widow of the late Enoch Merrit, aged 87 years. She was
baptized many years ago by the Reverend Joshua Cogswell. Reverend J. C.
Saunders of Digby conducted the funeral.

The above refernce is the only refernce I have found to the name Laura
Merritt. Could this be a christian name or a middle name for Magdalen
Anthony?

Annapolis Spectator, Friday, January 19, 1900

The death of Mrs James Anthony took place on Wednesday, after a long and
painful illness, which she bore with christian fortitude. The funeral services
took place in the Baptist Church, of which she was a devout member, on
Saturday, and was largely attended. Reverend Mr Vince conducted the services.
