Bev,

I believe I can help with this.
There were two Victoria Hotels. The first burned in the fire of 1897. It was rebuilt on the same site with the building that is still standing, although no longer a hotel. Go to Google Maps at <http://maps.google.ca/maps?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hl=en&tab=wl>
The Victoria Hotel is located on Water Street between Stannus and Gerrish.
In 1916 the hotel would have been owned and operated by the Doran family.
I will try to find a bit more information about the hotel and a picture of the 1916 era. I will have to send a copy of the picture off list as the list does not accommodate attachments.
Regards,
John

hello everyone,

I am working on a story about my grandparents lives and I am starting
with a little bit about my great grandparents to lead in to my story.
My great grandparents stayed in the Victoria Hotel in Windsor, NS on
their honeymoon and was wondering if anyone has come across any info on
exactly where the hotel was, what the accomodations were like or if
there are any photos of it. They were married on July 5,1916 to give
everyone a rough idea of the time I am inquirying about. Any info
anyone has come across I'd be very interested in.
Bev
