Hi Dorothy. Just a wee addition ... another researcher gave me a date of death for Winston ... that of Dec 1973 in St Jean, Isle d'Orleans, QC. This may explain why his obit hasn't surfaced.
Here is a recent one for the family ... the husband of Inez Hayden ...

HIGGINS, Wayne Allan - (Petty Officer 1st Class) Passed away suddenly on
January 3, 2010, in Dartmouth General Hospital. He was born in Weston, Ont. on
March 19, 1960, to the late Alfred Rex Higgins and survived by his mother,
Inez J. (Hayden) Gaudet. Survived by his beloved wife, Brigitte (Filion)
Higgins, and his sons, Mark and Ross Higgins; brothers, Paul (wife Sherlene)
and David (wife Justyne), and his nieces, Monica and Nicole, and nephew, Dylan
Higgins. He joined the Canadian Forces on May 9, 1978, as a Hull Technician
and was posted on the East Coast where he sailed the world. He was predeceased
by his grandparents, Abel and Ethel Hayden and Russell Higgins and Grace
Arkell; stepfather, Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class Joseph Orelle Gaudet. A
viewing will be held in Cole Harbour Funeral Home at 1234 Cole Harbour Rd.,
Dartmouth on Friday, January 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Military funeral will be
in the Stadacona Chapel on Monday, January 11, at 1:30 p.m. A reception will
follow. Donations can be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova
Scotia in lieu of flowers.
