I'm applying to the DAR for membership; my Revolutionary War ancestor is JOSEPH DOUCET. I need to find proof of his year/place of death. Any help would be greatly appreciated - here is what I know:.
JOSEPH7 GAUDET (PIERRE GAUDET DIT6 PITRE, JEAN BERNARD GAUDET DIT5 LE VIEUX, PIERRE GAUDET DIT4 L'AINE, DENIS3 GAUDET, JEAN2, GAUDET1) was born 1732 in Port Royal, Acadia, and died October 29, 1802 in Baie-Ste-Marie, Nova Scotia (?or St. Bernard). He married ANNE GERTRUDE LEBLANC October 20, 1764, daughter of CHARLES LEBLANC and MADELEINE GIROUARD. She was born October 20, 1735 in Port Royal, Acadia and died in Baie-Ste-Marie, Nova Scotia. Notes: CAPTAIN ISAIAH BOUDREAU'S COMPANY OF FRENCHMEN as listed in The MA Soldiers and Sailors of the American Revolution; GAUDET, JOSEPH. Private, Capt. Isaiah Boudreau's Co. of Frenchmen; enlisted Nov. 14, 1776; discharged Feb 14, 1777; service, 3 mos., under Col. Jonathan Eddy; company raised in Cumberland Co, N.S. Roll sworn to at Machias, ME. Joseph was among the twenty-one Acadian recruits from the Memramcook River Valley, some were tenant farmers on the estate of John Allan on the Baie Verte Road.
