John, thank you so very much!! I have checked all the data bases you have mentioned, and the census records too. Just not coming up with anything, and have been told that some of these marriages were not reported to the govt. at that time, and were strickly church marriages. I also wonder if any records were lost during the Halifax Explosion. I do appreciate your help. My grandmother's name was Mary McDonald, and she was born in Halifax, but married in Waterville, Maine. So she must have left NS as a teen ager. The story is that she was in a convent, and ran away with my grandfather from the convent. I am wondering if, during the early 1900's the Catholic church would have had any reasons to send girls to convents in Maine? She said her father died in a fishing accident. That would have been Ralph McDonald. I cannot find any death records for him in the vitals system and I don't even know if he died in NS. But I do know from Mary McDonald's marriage cert. in 1923 that both were deceased by then, and that both her parents were born in NS as she was. I am so sorry to bother you with all this. But if you do have any records at all, I would sure appreciate the information!! Gods Blessings to you!!!! Rose
