I find an Edward BRINE, age 31, in the 1881 French Village, Halifax County census, single, in household of William E. BRINE, born Jersey (Channel Islands), at www.familysearch.org.

Also, Edward's death record (died 1930) at www.novascotiagenealogy.com

Subject: [nsroots] Edward Brines

I have done an exhaustive research in the US for birth or immigration information on my ancestor-Edward Brine/s. In the past on "ancestry.com" I have seen the name listed on some kind of list that seemed to be prisoners shipped from England to Nova Scotia. How would I go about researching in Nova Scotia? I am not sure that this is how my ancestor immigrated or perhaps his father, but all other queries have yielded nothing.
