[nsroots] Le Ray family

I have been searching for my grandfather's brother Alfred Le Ray, born in
Jersey, Channel Islands in about 1865.
I found a Leray family on a passenger list for  the ship Oregon which sailed
from Liverpool on 9th November 1893. It would appear that this family
disembarked at Halifax, Nova Scotia.
 Although only first name initials are given, it seems  possible that they
could be Alfred, his wife and children.
Please could you advise me how to proceed for more information? Are there any
resources available to search on-line? I would appreciate any help you can
give me.
