Your note below references Alice (Dalton) Dartt, b.ca.1836. Is that a typo, 
meant to be 1886?

Searching novascotiagenealogy.com I found a John Foster Dartt born 28 
Jan 1885 in Greens Creek, son of Frank Dartt and Isabell Sanderson; this 
John married Maud F. Nelson in 1906.

I am working on the Dalton family of Pictou County and would be interested 
to learn if there is any connection to your Alice. I don't see any immediate 
match but if you find any further information it might be worth looking into.
