It appears that Elkanah's mother is buried in Pine Grove.
.......Kaulbach, Stephen, died 17 Apr 1919, age 88 years 9 months; wife, Lomina, died 8 May 1898, age 66 years; Mary Elizabeth, wife of George Lohnes, died 6 Jun 1886, age 86 years
I can't be sure about George.

Would anyone have parents for Mary Elizabeth?
Lana

Re; Elkanah Lohnes

The parents of Elkanah were Marie Elisabeth Veinot and Georg Lohnes.

Does anyone know which Georg Lohnes he was?

Candidate #1
Georg Lohnes born 1781 of Johann Christoph & Maria Elisabeth Rost.

Candidate #2 Johann Georg Lohnes born 1797 of Heinrich & Charlotte Mossman.

The latter seems most likely due to age. 22 vs. 39 when marrying.

The former better fits with what actually happened since it was mainly Christoph's line that wound up in New Germany. Jacob Lohnes of Christoph settled at New Germany and it would make sense that Georg his brother went there as well.

Online trees have either one or the other. I've never been able to prove which Georg Lohnes was the man who married Marie Elisabeth Veinot.

Does anyone know who Maria Elisabeth Feindel's parents were?

Comments?

The Lewiston Daily Sun, Auburn, Maine

Monday morning - 4 April, 1949

MASS. WOMAN DIES AT THE AGE OF 109

WOLLASTON, Mass., April 3 - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lohnes died last night at the age of 109.

She was born in New Germany, Nova Scotia, of old Plymouth Pilgrim stock.

She was married to Elkanah Lohnes at 17 in 1857 and lived in Nova Scotia until his death in 1904.

Her health was good until four years ago when she suffered a shock. She had said she lived a long life because:

"I've always worked hard and I don't smoke, drink, or go to dances."

Only two of her eight children are still living.

She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

NB: I have her maiden name as Feindel.
