Cc: "nova-sco...@rootsweb.com" <nova-sco...@rootsweb.com> Subject: [nsroots] 1900 US census, Norman Township, OK Territory Message-ID: <4c783fc6.11660.11c7...@ariana.hfx.eastlink.ca> Content-Type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCIII would appreciate it if someone could help me in reading a name on this census.
Sheet 3, Ward 6, Lines 27 - 29 of the Township of Norman, Oklahoma Territory (1910) lists Aaron McDaniel, born Jan 1867 in Iowa, and 4 year old George McDaniel, born Oct 1895 in OK, living with Aaron's mother-in-law
Harriet A. W-------- (head of household). The name may be Were, or Weare, or something like that, but it's difficult to read.
I am accessing this census through www.familysearch.org (the pilot site). If anyone has a better idea as to how the name reads I would be glad of your opinion. Aaron and George can be found via the index but "Were", "Weare" and "Ware" do not bring up Harriet so the transcriber obviously doesn't agree with me :)
Thanks in advance for any assistance, Mary Anne --------------Mary Anne, I checked ancestory.com for your entry, and the mother in law's name is "Harriet A Green", widow, dob Aug 1849, place of birth "Arkansas" her father was born "Tennessee" and her mother "Georgia"
Hope this helps ___________________________________________
