Hi Vickie and Jerry

Saw some old correspondence between you two regarding William Betts, the 
ship's carpenter of New Glasgow, who was blinded when a cannon misfired at a 
wedding celebration on 26 November 1868.

Thanks to Dutch Thompson's sleuthing, we have more details of that 
unfortunate event also a newspaper cutting.
