More shorebirds than yesterday but not by much. The increase was all about the
Semipalmated Sandpipers. I estimated around 150. 1 STILT SANDPIPER was also of
note.

Other notable birds include 1 Green Heron, 1 Black-billed Cuckoo first heard
calling across the pond on the west side near Gull Island and then eventually
scoped out, 1 Belted Kingfisher and 1 Northern Waterthrush.

A few maintenance items. I will attempt to clear the overgrown south end path
by Friday and also I scouted cutting a path away from the edge near Shriber's
Slew. I'll try and get that done by Friday as well.

I am also very pleased to report that I received a note this morning from the
Superintendent, Jennifer Nersesian, who informed me that NPS staff were working
on the East Pond valve yesterday to increase the flow.

While I was on the pond this morning, I opted not to get a read of the water
mark. I'll do one in a few days and compare it to Saturday's read out to see
what is the drop rate.

I swear I am a good pest :-)
