While birding along Dune Road today, I ran into a birder from Orange County who mentioned that he had seen a female harlequin yesterday and today at Shinnecock ( Suffolk). I headed over there and found the bird off the beach alongside the west jetty. Photo on the NYS Birder Facebook page.
