This afternoon I drove along the Ocean Parkway, Robt. Moses, Oak Beach, Captree
and Gilgo. Surprisingly the only raptors found were a couple of Northern
Harriers. Most of the ground is snow covered, and there were few birds, but
this should improve tomorrow.

At the Jones Beach west end Coast Guard Station there were 1 or 2 Lapland
Longspurs. One was feeding with a small group of Horned larks just west of the
bathrooms (closed), and another by the turnaround west of the police station
also with a small group of larks.

A lone American Pipt was at the eastern edge of the Gilgo parking lot, inside
the construction area. 2 Greater Yellowlegs were feeding on the shore opposite.
