Hi All,In my ongoing quest to fix my Daystar MP 528, I am looking at a few video cards. One is an ATi Mac64- VR PCI Card with a Mac monitor connection, and composite video-in. The other two are TwinTurbo128M8 and an Apple Mach64 820-0728-A. Which one do you think is best? I'm not looking for top-of-the-line, just something that will put an image on the monitor.
TwinTurbo's a fast(ish) card, but I've had issues. I think the safe bet is the ATi Mach64 VR.
Next is a question about internal SCSI termination. I have an IBM 4 GB SCSI drive and a Yamaha SCSI CD burner on the internal cables. How should these be set up? What about termination and ID issues?
First thing to do is to see if either drive are terminated. If they're both terminated, it's probably easiest to unterminate the CD-R. Fullsize jumpers etc. Make sure the terminated one is at the end. I always set the primary hard disk to 0 and the primary optical to 3. Pretty irrelevant, but if everyone does things the same way less surprises occur. The drives are probably already set to 0 and 3.
Last thing: Where to get parts, besides eBay? I have seen many site s that recommend Tweek Digital, but their website doesn't have much to offer, saying "Coming Soon" on it. Are they out of business?
eBay & LEM-Swap are where I get my parts.
