Dear Thore, See my answers below. - Since 2-3 weeks, we have increased the manpower to 4 full-time developers on the OpenModelica compiler in order proceed faster with MultiBody and Fluid/Media library support.

Dear Modelica Community. I would like to get to know the state of OM regarding the following issues: 1. Is the building model library of LBNL of Matthias Wetter able to be used (newest version needs stream connectors)? - It don't think so, but we have briefly discussed that library. However, the standard Modelica libraries have higher priority. - In the past 3 weeks we have made quite a bit of progress and fixed many issues with Fluid/Media. Stream connectors are on the list to be fixed. 2. ExternalMedia is available as a direct link between Modelica and FluidProp. Is this running? - We have not tested yet. 3. Is the Spark Solver added to the OpenModelica Solver family? - No, not yet. Are you interested, would like to contribute?. DASSL is the standard. We have Euler and Runge Kutta in non-released prototypes. We have had no requests for the Spark Solver yet (as far as I know). 4. Is the ModelicaFluid Library fully supported now? - Not yet, but a lot of progress in the recent 2-3 weeks. 5. Would the FlowDissipation developed at TUHH and XRG run within OpenModelica? - They will need to be tested by TUHH and XRG. See also above. 6. Do you know in any form the state of interoperability between SciLab/SciCos/Xcos and OpenModelica? - This interoperability is a task in the OPENPROD project, and one person in our group has been allocated to that task. - If you have testcases/use cases, this would be useful. 7. What is the roadmap of OpenModelica in the next months/year to get a hint on compatibility in the above mentioned fields? - See roadmap on www.openmodelica.org -My estimations today, Dec 21, 2009: MultiBody and Fluid/Media flattening in January 2010. Fluid/Media simulation in February 2010. Simple MultiBody Examples simulation February 2010 More complete MultiBody Simulation Fall 2010 (Tearing support is needed) 8. What activities are running in getting a benchmark between Dymola and OpenModelica? Are recommendations and wishes as presented by the Siemens Team (K. Link et al.) on the Modelica 2009 be realised already? - Could you give a link to that presentation? The Siemens Team is in the OPENPROD project, and to support their needs is in the project plan. Thanks for your help! Best regards, Thore Oltersdorf Best regards, Peter Fritzson
