I realised that I didn't answer this bit of the question. Our policy is
that we will designate a new LTS release at least every four years (with
support for an LTS release lasting five years). It has yet to be decided
which release will be the next LTS and what version number it will be,
but it is safe to say that it will be >= 1.1.1
