In the category of weird but fun origami assignments...
I was recently asked to create an origami Cuban Solenodon, a rare, rat-like mammal, out of an orange Tootsie Roll Pop wrapper, for the show "NCIS-LA." Apparently, the character, played by LL Cool J, likes to do origami while on stakeout. I started with a blintzed fish base. The snout and tail, plus four little feet and two ears emerged from that base.
