A favorite of mine that's missing from this list is a short story by César
Aira, titled (at least in translation) In the Café, which can be found in
the collection The Musical Brain (New Drections, 2015).

And if we include TV, there is the CBC mini-series Warigami, combining
magic, origami and martial arts (what do you mean silly?)
