Hi everyone,
If you’re interested in learning how to fold any origami tessellation you want, with as many repeats as you want, whether there’s a video tutorial for it or not, this email is for you.
What I’ve learned by folding and designing hundreds of origami tessellations is that there are general principles that apply to all patterns, and there are ways of using the structure of the pattern to plan folding sequences.
There’s often more precise principles that apply to certain subsets of tessellations too, which make rules that are easy to remember, like “always add two triangle twists for each new hexagon twist” or “start clusters of four triangles in one ring around the center, and finish them in the next ring around the center”.
These are the principles I teach through the tutorials, interactive tiling diagrams, theory/design workshops, and an abundance of crease patterns in Tessellation Academy.
I’m running a 50% off sale on Tessellation Academy until March 17, which brings the price down to $11/month or $95/year (these payments contribute towards an eventual lifetime membership upgrade), and it’s very rare for me to offer discounts on my courses.
If you’d like the freedom to fold whatever pattern you want, check out all the details and join here: https://training.gatheringfolds.com/academy
Happy folding,
Madonna Yoder
