Hi,

keep in mind that the previous link
<https://www.vultr.com/docs/how-to-install-ossec-hids-on-a-centos-7-server>
is for OSSEC 2.8.2 and the latest release is v2.9.1
<https://github.com/ossec/ossec-hids/releases>. I recommend you to install
OSSEC from packages, here <http://ossec.wazuh.com/>you can find the
packages for OSSEC 2.8.3 (we are working on the new packages for OSSEC
2.9.1).

On the other hand, I encourage you to take a look at Wazuh
<https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/index.html>, here
<https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/installation-guide/installing-wazuh-server/index.html>you

can find a guide for RPM based distributions.

I hope it helps.
Regards.
