the test works OK for me. Significant changes from your 'perl -V':

    usethreads=define use5005threads=undef useithreads=define
usemultiplicity=define

    ccversion='', gccversion='3.3.2 (Debian)', gccosandvers=''

    gnulibc_version='2.3.2'
