It depends on what you want to do. I'e never used the LS-100. The DM-420 or 520 are, for my money, the best Olympus recorders if you want a recorder but aren't concerned about phantom power, etc. The DM-620 is okay but is less straightforward to operate. The Dm-720 isn't bad either. Again, it depends on what you want. None of the recorders I've used let you set the time and date by voice.
