In the hour of 10:07 PM 6/2/2003 -0400, Tom spoke this:

I have a friend who is using Windows 98 and the computer
locks up quite often. The computer can not run Windows XP.

First, would there be any advantage for her to upgrade to Windows 98 SE?

Second, Would she have to reinstall all her programs after
the upgrade is done?

Third, would she lose her data?

Thank you,

Tom

Tom,

Upgrading to 98 SE will be very beneficial to her computer and her happiness too, it was a much needed upgrade to the system for all.

She should not have to reinstall anything after upgrading and no, I do not think any of her data will be adversely affected. But, as a backup is always a good idea when done frequently (or any time really) then I would heartily suggest she back up her data.
