Sudha, The crypt function will encrypt a string. Its a one way encryption so rather than decrypt the encrypted password you would need to encrypt the password entered by who ever uses the script and check the encrypted version against the encrypted version stored in your file. If the encrypted versions match, the correct password has been entered. Hope that makes sense and is useful. Kev.
