You've touched on a few things that I've been curious about as well - how is it that the fashion pictorials (or the oyster/lingerie shots you mentioned) can look so great in print and the Playmate/celeb pictorials look so bad? It seems to me that if the switch from film to digital was so necessary that they would take the time to make sure that they use what works across the board. I too feel like I lack the technical knowledge and also the trerminology to accurately describe what it is that I don't like, but I appreciate you trying (and giving me the opportunity as well). There was a swimsuit fashion pictorial a year (or two?) ago that I thought looked spectacular in terms of reproduction, so why can't the Playboy photographers use the same type of camera (or whatever) that was used in this pictorial? Or better yet - Guido Argentini photographed Playmates for that Valentines pictorial - what did he use? Why are his photos so much clearer than the Playmate pictorial? Maybe I am being too simplistic, but it just seems to me that this problem (and I really think it is one) could very easily be fixed and I don't understand why it isn't being addressed. I just wish I could sit down with someone at Playboy and have them explain the printing process and why there has been such a dramatic change and (even more important) why I should just accept it and continue to pay for something so inferior to what I used to get. PS - In terms of Giuliana's CF being digital - it's not that I doubt that it is - I was saying that I was doubting that the "problems" with the CF are because it's a digital image rather than a film image - I was guessing that the problem was that the image wasn't edited the way they usually are (key word here is GUESSING).

with its content. There are charming features, and actually sometimes
the best photos go with those rather than the actual pictorials
(e.g. the lingerie/romance feature with Athena Lundberg and Janine
Habeck, or the one showing Irina Voronina with an oyster: those have
been stunning, and beautifully produced images, for some reason
looking better than many pictorials). I adore the monthly full page
Olivia artwork, also. That always looks good.
