Maybe the way you ought to look at all this overcharging by playmates as more of an investment. As who can say in 20 years when some of those playmates have passed what a photo with them was worth.
Pretty priceless in my book. If you are infact a real diehard autograph collector. Course, I do have to wonder how much they charge if say I brought the prop which made them all look special. I mean, you could start charging them or say, hey knock off $10 bucks and you can get a picture with me. Do you think they'd go for that. But your prop has a be very cool for them to want to be in it with you.
