The 250 instructions give, for example, "Transcribe..." at 2.5.1.4, so
that's correct.

They're listed under 1.8.1: serial numbering, dates in the 260, 490
series/subseries numbering, and the year in the 502.  The instructions
under 1.8.2 through 1.8.5 apply to these, including those on numbers
expressed as words.

Regarding numbers spelled as words, they're alike, based on my
reading.  Both instructions on series/subseries numbering (490 $v:
2.12.9/2.12.17; 830 $v: 24.6.1.3) point back to 1.8, which means
numbers-as-words get converted to numerals.

In the spirit of flipping back to chapter 1 of AACR2...  But certainly
not so far to walk in our present cataloging manual.
