Upside Down Sunshine Cake

1 18.5-oz. pkg. yellow cake mix
1 small package orange flavored gelatin
1 20-oz. can pineapple rings, drained
10 maraschino cherries
3/4 c. thawed Cool Whip

Preheat oven to dg350.

Prepare cake batter as directed on package; set aside.

Generously grease a 13- by 9-inch baking dish.  Sprinkle dry gelatin

mix onto bottom of pan.  Top with pineapple rings.  Place a cherry in

the center of each ring.  Pour batter evenly over fruit in dish.  Bake

30 minutes, or until tests done.  Cool in pan on rack 5 minutes.

Loosen cake from sides of pan.  Invert onto a serving platter.  Gently

remove dish; cool completely.  Serve topped with whipped topping.

Yield 12 servings.
