Bringing down a single virtual IP address

I have kind of a strange requirement. I need to define a range of 250
virtual IP addresses, and selectively bring down only one of them at a
time. As far as I can tell, I have to bring down the main interface, and
have no ability to down just one of the aliases. Am I missing something?
