Reading the issues again I understand that

- there is a requirement to run the most recent stable (2.4) in parallel with 3.0 beta

- the 3.0 beta installation process doesn't start a deinstall

- the problem occurs *only* if an earlier snapshot built with the old compiler was installed in the same target directory

Should this be the case a limited number of the courageous users of developer snapshots would be affected.

This is the case. As I know only one developer snapshot (m5) was
released on OOo 3.0 code line before we changed the compiler version.
Therefore I do not see here a high risk and a potential showstopper.
