Dear Natale, At Laurentian University we used exactly this technology at the Central Analytical Facility- we cut slices of the image plates to fit the Gandolfi camera - it worked well (with some hassle). I believe Andy McDonald (he is at the Dept. of Geology) is still using it. I am planning to use these plates for powder diffraction, to be performed on small (<0.1mm) mineral fragments; the device to be used is still to be assembled. A possible choice could be to use a collimator, a Gandolfi camera basement for the crystal motion, the diffraction effects being then recorded in flat-plane geometry by the Fuji plate. Another choice would be to put the flat plane plate on a 4-circle diffractometer. There are several important details to be considered, and I wonder what to do to optimize the device, provided that we will have a budget of some Keuro to purchase the various components of the device.
