>Say, IG, for the record, since it's been brought up, did you intend to turn >this whole Citadel thing into a business sometime? For the record: Citadel will *always* be open source. I couldn't close it even if I wanted to, because I am not the sole copyright holder. I've made a few $$$ here and there with Citadel. The journaling system, for example, was commissioned by a hedge fund that was using Citadel as their email system and needed journaling in order to be Sarbanes-Oxley compliant. Then there's the occasional consulting for things like installation/deployment, hosting, etc. At this time I'm comfortable doing all of this stuff through my employer. Even though I don't directly pocket the revenue, I get to the above type of work on company time, which is fine with me. In fact, my work on Citadel was one of the things that got me in the door there in the first place. Will citadel.org ever become a business unto itself? Probably not, if for no other reason than because the citadel.com domain is already taken. :)
