My assumption here is that using IMAP would allow a >message sent to a customer by a user would be automatically saved in the >Public Room. I was of the impression that you wanted to do this just with Webcit. If you are using some other client like Thunderbird there may be a way to make it appear as though the mail came from the room. What you do is set up the shared room as described previously. Set up each of the Thunderbird clients to fetch mail for each of the individual users as seperate users and to fetch messages from the shared room. Then alter the Thunderbird setup so that the email address and reply to address are that of the shared email address (room address). This way messages originating from the Thunderbird clients will appear to be from the shared room address. If you use an IMAP connection you can have Thunderbird save copies of the sent messages in the shared room as well.
