Difficult question to answer authoritatively, of course.

But, I'm thinking you might be able to use AppArmor to add security to
Citadel (making it so Citadel can only work with specific files).  That might
work, although I do not know much about how tomake AppArmor work.  This
presumes you're using the latest Ubuntu flavor (Hardy).

You could also set up firewall rules on the Ubuntu box to only leave specific
ports open.  That might help.

The hardware firewall will do much of the rest of the work for you, I think.

Perhaps other folks have some ideas.
