Thanks for reporting that. I tried and apparently what we get by default is
branch "piper". It's not a gradle config issue, so I changed the title of this
issue to reflect that.
The code for the latest release is on branch "master" and the main branch for
preparing the next release is on branch "dev".
Anyway, I should check whether we can get the "master" branch by default, or
amend the documentation accordingly.
