To all concerned,

As a low-activity member of this list (ie "lurker"), I would request
that Pascal and David do their best to sort out their differences. Each
has contributed greatly to Scid.

Considering that Shane has been effectively absent for almost three
years (if you exclude one website update), it is encouraging to see the
continued development taking place. Shane did a great job. He is not
doing anything now and should be grateful that others value his work so
much that they are passionately prepared to continue where he left off.

As David mentioned it is GPL'ed code and if someone (who is not active)
has a problem with the code being improved, then tough.

Pascal has added some stunning enhancements to Scid. In terms of actual
work done on the program, he has done more than anyone else and, IMO, is
fully entitled to make an unopposed application to Sourceforge.

If there are two projects (Scid/Scid-pg and ChessDB) it is also fine.
If there is code-sharing and borrowing between two GPL'ed projects, both
products can improve.

All the above intended with the greatest respect for Shane, Pascal and
David who, unlike lazy me, actually wnt to great efforts to make a great
piece of software ( or two as it may turn out)
