I've installed the CodeSourcery ARM EABI toolset as a foreign
toolchain.
I'm trying to build perl 5.8.4.
I have applied the Crocodile patch (for host miniperl)
The resulting perl binary fails basic test t/term - the backtick operator
doesn't work.
One thing I have noticed is that the perl/Configure script reports
"However, your read() returns '$status' on EOF??"
The test run
prompt > $run ./try >try.out 2>try.ret 4>try.err
gets an empty try.err.
Running the same code in scratchbox arm 4.0.1 succeeds (try.err contains 0)
Presumably there is a fault in my foreign toolchain installation.
Does anyone have an opinion where I could look?
