Yes, this bug is still active. Just tried the following on 5.14.3:
1) chmod 000 .config/ksmserverrc
2) Opened system settings->startup and shutdown->desktop session
3) 'Confirm logout' was not selected

According to the NVidia driver page a GT730 requires a later driver,
352.30. This would be found in the nvidia-current package, so
uninstall nvidia-331 and install nvidia-current instead.

The fix is in kernel 4.0.5 and I can confirm it fixes the problem. Been
running the latest firmware on my EVO 840 SSD for a few days now and
everything looks good.

I had to place a script in the .kde/Autostart folder to disable the X-server

Same problem here after upgrading to Karmic. Problem is caused by Jaunty
installing sql 5.0 but not selecting the MySql meta package. Therefore
MySql is not updated to 5.1 during the upgrade to Karmic and Akonadi
fails to start.
Simple selecting the mysql-server package will fix the problem.

perfectly under feisty. After upgrading to Gutsy, it hangs during boot.
I inserted the WinXP install CD and booted from it. It starts loading
installation files off the CD and then BSOD (page fault).

(which is Gentoo) and it has no problem with running the WinXP QEMU
session. So it seems it is something with Gutsy itself, not kernel or

Following the kernel upgrade from 2.6.22-9 to 2.6.22-10, I lost the
ability to output sound to the S/PDIF digital output.
alsamixer no longer shows the option to enable IEC958 (Digital output).
Booting the system
Confirming on my HTPC using ALC883 chipset (snd_hda_intel driver). I
lost many mixer channels. Most importantly the IEC958 (digital output
switch) which means I no longer have sound at all. Had to revert back to
2.6.22-9 which made it work again.

problem. After doing todays update I'm getting the Could not open
debtage database. apt-get update works but will not fix problem.
Command line apt-get install works.
