I guess my example is misleading. 't Urik is not a jurisdiction but the name of a single farm. In pre Napoleon times (about 1812/1832) the country side had no house numbers. You suggest 2 FORM Address, Hamlet,City,ZipCode,County,State,Country But an address is not a jurisdiction IMHO, why elso should GedCom provide ADDR properties? http://www.arvernes.com/files/norme_gedcom/55gcch2.htm#EVENT_DETAIL But the site does not seem to support ADDR properties. Therefore my sugestion to turn event adresses in notes prefixed with "address" if ever a dedicated export gets implemented. But personally I can live without. No, but the way you build your gedcom file is not appropriated imho. I guess you fool the website that way by mixing the PLAC and ADDR tags for an event. As I said previously, you should add the right tags to the header. Then you should build your whole genealogy accordingly. You can add as many juridictions as you need, so you could do something like: ../. lots of stuff deleted 1 CHAR UTF-8 1 LANG French 1 PLAC 2 FORM Address, Hamlet,City,ZipCode,County,State,Country An example of how my genealogy is designed : 1 OCCU Couturière 1 RESI 2 ADDR lieudit "le Calvaire" 3 CITY Coëx, Vendée 1 DEAT 2 DATE 6 JUL 1950 2 PLAC ,Coëx,85070,Vendée,Pays de la Loire,France 2 AGE 22y 4m 6d Do not know if it helps, but in my opinion, that's the only way to go to be sure your places will be well located. Re: [Ancestris_en] genealogy on line
Would it be possible to add a plugin/or/a possibility to our plugin (export Geneanet) to match the requirements of that site. I created my gedcom with Nils' predecessor of Ancestris, and switched recently. So far I don't seem to have much trouble but I'm not using every type of entity and field. The links are actually to a page of my tree. I just was wondering what would happen if I adjusted the PLAC elements according to the requirements of Ancestris. The site is shows weird locations in the sea anyhow. I haven't figured out more details yet. http://www.genealogieonline.nl/stamboom-pol/tellingen.php now that I'm looking Aujourd'hui dans le passé 1992 - Mariage de et (il y a 20 ans) The names of the spouses are missing in this phrase. Before uploading I saved a copy of my gedcom and filtering living people. The above phrase shows that the family record was not removed and is used by the site. No special export is required to fix that, but an enhancement of the filter: When filtering living people, also remove the family record, only if a spouse and a child remains, the record should remain but events, notes etc removed. I have the same wish for another site. Speaking of the "save as" dialog, would it be possible to save the chosen options for the next time?
