I am in the 8th year of 3 year staggered planting growth of a Tall Spindle
Apple Orchard.
The Planted Area is about 2.5 acres containing 1750 trees.
As a first time grower in a VERY windy/blustery location, I did not want to
deal with movement or collapse.
Hence I chose 14ft long treated Yellow
George, I can't build anything straight, so I refrain from giving advice on
trellis construction!
But, we all might find this information useful:

Does anyone have any positive experience with Serenade on anything?

Have been using serenaded and strep during bloom for a couple of years and
haven't had any fire blight. Don't know if it works or not though.

Ok, more seriously: Serenade does have some efficacy against FB and a number of
diseases. But I really wonder on the return on money spent on it compared to
anything else we spray. Maybe I'm wrong.

I have used the 1.34% QST 713 Serenade on young trees in our retail
nursery that is labelled for fire blight and scab. Since those trees do
not bloom, I have never used it for fireblight, choosing to use a copper
spray as soon as the trees arrive from Stark Bros. Serenade 1.34%

David, we use duckbills or manta rays exclusively here in the sandy loam soils
