Bug#1133685: Intel AX200 Bluetooth non-functional on 5.10.0-39, regression from 5.10.0-38

2026-04-15 Thread JMCoates
Hello and thanks for responding,

I am unable to boot into 5.10.0-38 on this system. GRUB appears to be
overridden by something at the firmware or bootloader level - grub-set-default,
grub-reboot, and manual grub.cfg configuration all fail to change the boot
target. Both kernels are installed. I can only provide logs from 5.10.0-39.

Attached are the logs for 5.10.0-39. If the logs for 5.10.0-38 are critical I
can try entirely reverting back to that build.

Can you please provide boot logs for both 5.10.0-38-amd64 and
5.10.0-39-amd64?

Best regards

Bug#1133685: Intel AX200 Bluetooth non-functional on 5.10.0-39, regression from 5.10.0-38

2026-04-13 Thread JMCoates
Package: linux
Version: 5.10.251-1
Severity: important

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 Bluetooth stopped functioning after upgrading from
kernel 5.10.0-38-amd64 (5.10.249-1) to 5.10.0-39-amd64 (5.10.251-1).
WiFi on the same card continues to work normally.

Symptoms:
- GNOME Bluetooth settings reports "No Bluetooth found"
- hciconfig -a and hcitool dev return no devices
- /sys/class/bluetooth does not exist at boot
- bluetooth.service skips repeatedly due to missing ConditionPathIsDirectory
- btintel module is present but does not bind to the device

dmesg shows WiFi firmware loads normally but no BT firmware load attempt
appears anywhere in the log. On a working system a separate btintel/iwlwifi
line loading BT firmware would be expected alongside the wifi firmware load.

Hardware:
- Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz, PCIe, :01:00.0, REV=0x340
- Firmware: iwlwifi-cc-a0-59.ucode, version 59.601f3a66.0

Kernel versions:
- 5.10.0-38-amd64 (5.10.249-1): Bluetooth working prior to upgrade
- 5.10.0-39-amd64 (5.10.251-1): Bluetooth broken

Regression timing confirmed via /var/log/dpkg.log showing kernel
upgradeoccurred April 12 2026.
